Here is all the information you need for Lightning Lane in Walt Disney World:
- Lightning Lane (LL) Multi Pass means you will have access to select almost all attractions in a theme park for a fee. Lightning Lane (LL) Single Pass has to do with 1 or 2 attractions per theme park that you can have access to by paying an additional fee separate from the Multi Pass. The Single Pass attractions are not part of Multi Pass. For example, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can purchase Flight of Passage as a Lightning Lane Single Pass for $15 (an estimation).
- If you are not familiar with this system, in Walt Disney World you can purchase it in the mydisneyexperience app and gain access to a shorter line for the attractions. It is about $15 to $45 per day per person. You choose an attraction and go to the Lightning Lane during a hour time window. The standby line still exists for all attractions at no cost.
- You can choose 3 attractions per day 7 days before your trip and it is done in the mydisneyexperience app. You can make the 3 selections per day for all the days of your trip beginning at 7am Eastern Time. After you have made the 3 selections for a given day, you will then be prompted to pay for the Lightning Lane (LL) Multi Pass. You will need to pay for the Lightning Lane (LL) Single Pass as well, if you chose any.
- People staying outside Walt Disney World cannot make selections until 3 days before their visit.Â
- All 3 initial selections have to be in the same park. You are able to choose the one hour time windows you prefer. The one hour time windows can overlap by 20 minutes.
- After you have made the 3 initial selections, they can be modified in the mydisneyexperience app at any point before your trip.
- When you are in a given park, after the 1st one has been used, you can then make another selection in the same park or a different park. This can only be done if you have the hopper option. The other 2 could be modified to a different park if you prefer.
- For the 3 initial experience choices, you can choose 1 from Group 1 and 2 from Group 2 or all 3 from Group 2. The breakdown of the attractions by group is below.
- For Lightning Lane (LL) Multi Pass in the Magic Kingdom: Group 1 = Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. In Group 2 = Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, Small World, Mad Tea Party, Magic Carpets, Winnie the Pooh, PhilharMagic, Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Journey of the Little Mermaid.

- The attractions included in the Lightning Lane (LL) Single Pass are: 7 Dwarfs Mine Train and Tron in Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy in Epcot, Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- You have to purchase the Lightning Lane (LL) Multi Pass right after you have made the 3 selections in the app, per day. There are no refunds. The system will open each day at 7am Eastern Time.
- During your vacation, after you use the 1st selection, you can then make another choice. It can be in the same park or a different park, if you have the hopper option.
- You can only choose each attraction once during a day.
- For the Lightning Lane (LL) single pass, you can make up to 2 per day. If you choose any, you will be prompted to pay for them right after you have made the selections per day.
- You can modify selections in the mydisneyexperience app.
- Please note: The most popular attractions will book up soon after 7am Eastern Time. (This is a huge advantage to being on site because off site guests can not make selections until 3 days before, onsite guests can make them 7 days in advance.)
- Previously you could make another selection 2 hours after you made a selection, but that no longer is going on. The system will allow you to choose another attraction after you have used a given attraction.
There is another option which is called Lightning Lane Premier Pass! This option can also be reserved at 7am Eastern Time 7 days before your vacation. You can purchase it for 1 theme park per day. It gives you access to the Lightning Lane line for all attractions within the given theme park. You can go in each attraction once using the Lightning Lane lane and you do NOT have to make a time window reservation. However, the cost for it can range from $199 to $449 per person for the chosen park.
