FastPass+ Attractions in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

It’s no secret that while Disney is a magical place, you need a little extra Disney vacation planning from what I personally like to call the golden ticket. Disney’s FastPass+ is a must have, especially if you want to ride the most popular attractions without waiting in ridiculously long lines… I mean who wants to do that!  Don’t know how to set it up? No need to worry, Disney world vacation planning can certainly help you manage this. Out of all the parks, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has some of the top attractions in all of Disney World, including rapid moving roller coasters, amazing live performances, and bone chilling thrillers that are sure to leave you with goosebumps.

So what are the top must do FastPass+ attractions you might ask? Disney world vacation planning is sure to help with that one. The first attraction where a FastPass+ is certainly needed is the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Going 0 to 60 mph in less than 2 seconds, you are sure in for the time of your life. Without a FastPass+, regular wait time would be anywhere ranging from 60-120 minutes.

The next top attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Tower of Terror. This bone chilling thriller takes you into the deep dark depths of what Disney likes to call the Twilight Zone… dropping you down multiple stories, your stomach will feel the butterflies I can assure you( in the best way possible of course). Regular wait time without a fast pass is usually around 60 – 120 minutes, and sometimes longer depending on the crowd size that particular day.

If you are like the majority of the population , and absolutely LOVE Star Wars, then be sure to head on over to Star Tours in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You will be immersed into what feels like a virtual reality of the Movie series itself, where you will be taken on an expedition by CP3O and R2D2 into the mesmerizing world of Star Wars. Now this is a must have FastPass, due to its exceptionally high level of popularity among those who enter the parks daily, and the wait time without a FastPass can be up to 45 minutes or more. No one has time for that, you have to save the galaxy!

Moving on to infinity and beyond! Well actually more like Andy’s backyard. That’s right, you read that correctly. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has actually transformed a section of the park into what is supposed to be Andy’s backyard from Toy Story. There are two attractions in this section of the park that are an absolute must have FastPass. The first is the Slinky Dog Dash. This is a very kid friendly mild roller coaster that takes you literally in slinky dog through the magical Toy Story Land. It is extremely popular (especially right now due to the fact that it just recently became open to the public) and wait times can be up to 2 and a half hours, even starting early in the morning! Be sure to snatch a FastPass+ for this one!

The 2nd Toy Story themed adventure is Toy Story Midway Mania, an interactive arcade-like ride! You actually get to play multiple games against your riding partner and compete for the highest number of points! It’s as fun as it sounds I promise. But nothing is worth an hour wait, so be sure to snatch a FastPass+ in advance.

Disney vacation planning will be sure to help you plan accordingly and book the correct FastPasses at the right times. So be sure to take a trip to Disney’s magical Hollywood Studios, where you can seek thrill, peek into your beloved childhood memories, and save the galaxy all in one day! It’s a must do! The Tower of Terror Experience

Walt Disney World is truly a magical place, and is even more magical when your trip is planned thoroughly. Disney World vacation planning allows you and your family to get the utmost greatest possible experience, while allowing yourself and your family or friends to see and do as much as you may please. Disney’s FastPass+ is a major part of Disney World vacation planning, and there are must do rides in the Walt Disney World Parks that FastPass+ will enable you to experience.

Hollywood studios is home to the one and only Tower of Terror. A thrill captivated elevator that drops you 13 stories at an incredible rate. Your stomach is sure to feel this one, in the best way possible of course.

You enter the ride into a dark desolate room, which is supposedly haunted with the elevators’ previous victims. Chilled with fear, you will enter into the Twilight zone, where your biggest and darkest fears are made into reality. Make sure to fasten your seatbelts and hold onto all personal items folks, because I promise you they WILL go flying if you do not. Yes, even your magic Mickey ears, I apologize. As your elevator begins to rise, you and your companions may momentarily regret your decision, but do not fear, it will be totally worth it.

As you reach the top floor, and the doors open wide and you get a view of the entire park.  You get a moment of peace. One would normally snap a quick picture before falling to their doom. KIDDING, do not fear. However while you drop 13 stories, your stomach is sure to drop right with you. As you drop at a relatively gravity defying speed, you see the ghosts of the victims floating on the walls ahead of you, as you continue to fall. Once you approach the ending, you are pulled into an eerie room, while being greeted by a not so friendly bellman. You have officially reached the twilight zone.

Top FastPass+ Attractions in the Magic Kingdom

As you are in the stages of Disney World vacation planning, FastPass+ becomes an important part of the process. You are able to make three FastPass+ selections per theme park per day. There are so many attractions to choose from and you want to make sure you obtain the best selections.

The Magic Kingdom has classic attractions, shows, thrill rides, and something for the whole family. So what three attractions should you choose when going through your Disney World vacation planning?

If you have thrill seekers in the family then you should select Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. You may be wondering, how will you ride Splash Mountain? To assist with your Disney World vacation planning, arrive to the Magic Kingdom 30 minutes before it opens and go directly to Splash Mountain. The area will be empty the 1st hour after the park has opened and you can go in the standby line!

If you have non thrill seekers in the family, then you could choose: Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.

If you have little ones in your family then I would suggest: Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Enchanted Tales with Belle, and Winnie the Pooh or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (if your little ones are at least 38 inches). You can still experience Peter Pan by arriving to the Magic Kingdom 30 minutes early and going directly to Peter Pan.

As you are in the stages of Disney World vacation planning, make sure you choose your FastPass+ attractions 60 days in advance at 7am Eastern Time. Visit mousevacationplanning.com/walt-disney-world-quote to get a Walt Disney World quote!

Top 5 Walt Disney World attractions that do not require a FastPass+

After a family has booked their Walt Disney World vacation the countdown immediately starts and the planning begins!  So many questions pop up.  What park should we visit first?  Where are we going to eat?  What date can we make dining reservations?  When is our 60 day date for FastPass+?

FastPass+ is a big part of planning a Walt Disney World vacation.  Families can make 3 FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance.  The FastPass+ will get them to the front of the line.  However, there are some FastPass+ attractions where a FastPass+ is not necessary in Walt Disney World because of a number of reasons.  Here is a Top 5 List!

1) Mickey’s PhilharMagic in the Magic Kingdom.  The attraction is a 3D show in a large theater and some favorite Disney songs come to life on the screen!  The wait time is typically only about 15 minutes or less.

2) Living with the Land in Epcot.  This slow moving boat ride in the Land Pavilion is always a short wait and a great attraction to experience while waiting for your FastPass+ time at Soarin.

3) Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival in Epcot.  There is no need for a FastPass here because it is housed in a large theater and there is never a wait.

4) Journey into Imagination with Figment in Epcot.  This is a continuous moving attraction and the wait time will only be about 5 minutes.

5) It’s Tough to be a Bug in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  You will find out it is not a good idea to ever step on a bug again, but you won’t have to wait for the experience.

FastPass+ Secrets in the Magic Kingdom

“The wait time for Space Mountain is 180 minutes?  We have to wait in line for 3 hours?”

This quote is uttered every day in the Magic Kingdom by thousands of people.  You do not have to be in this predicament.  You can walk to the front of the line with minimal wait and be whistling “zip-a-dee-doo-dah” by taking advantage of FastPass+.  Your family will think you are the ultimate Walt Disney World vacation planner.

FastPass+ is a free service that is included with all theme park admission.  It grants you the privilege to have front of the line access at 3 attractions per day.  If you are staying in a Walt Disney World resort you can make 3 FastPass+ selections per day in the same park 60 days before your trip.  You make them through a mydisneyexperience account beginning at 7am.  The amount of FastPass+ times available per attraction is limited.

The FastPass+ selections you secure in the Magic Kingdom are crucial.  Do not misuse a FastPass+ selection on an attraction that typically has a minimal wait time.  You want to choose the attractions for your Disney World vacation that frequently have the “OMG” wait times.

As the family planner, if everyone is into the thrill rides, then obtain a FastPass+ for Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

If your family does not enjoy thrill rides you can experience three of the following: Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Haunted Mansion, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Do not distress in regards to using a FastPass+ for: Barnstormer, It’s a Small World, Mad Tea Party, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Meet Ariel in her Grotto, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid.  The wait is typically minimal at some point during the day for these attractions.  A few of the attractions are a short experience.

When making your selections it is preferred you have the 3rd FastPass+ end around 2pm.  The opportunity will then be presented to you to select a 4th FastPass+ from a large pool of choices through the mydisneyexperience app.  After you have used your 4th selection, attempt to make a 5th, and maybe even a 6th!

Avoid Waiting in Lines in Walt Disney World

Avoid Waiting in Lines in Walt Disney World

How do you avoid standing in a line that seems to go on forever in Walt Disney World?  When you are in one of these lines and think you must be close and then you enter a room which contains what I call the “hidden lines room.”  This is where you find hundreds of people that are still in front of you in line!  Finally, there is the dreaded question that every parent does not want to hear, “Are we to the front of the line yet?”

Can these lines be avoided?  The answer is “Yes!”

1) If you book a Walt Disney World resort package that includes theme park tickets you can sign up for FastPass+ 60 days in advance.  This can be done at 7am through your mydisneyexperience account.  FastPass+ allows you to get to the front of the line at 3 of your favorite attractions per day!  People that are staying off site can only make FastPass+ selections 30 days in advance.  This is significant because there are a limited amount of FastPasses given out for each attraction per day.

While making your FastPass+ selections try to have the 3rd one end at around 1pm.  You will have a greater chance of obtaining a 4th one while in the theme park.

2) When your Walt Disney World vacation has been booked, you will want to make character meal reservations.  By eating with multiple characters during a meal it will save you hours of wait time in the parks.  For example, if you eat at Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary Resort, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, & Pluto will come to your table to take pictures and sign autographs.  It could easily be a 30 minute wait per character if you wait for each character inside of a theme park.

3) Arrive 30 minutes before a theme park opens!  By getting ahead of the crowds you will always be one step ahead of everyone else.

4) After you have arrived in the Magic Kingdom 30 minutes before the park has opened, go directly to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.  The wait time in the standby lines will be minimal during the 1st hour after the park has opened!

Here is a partial theme park itinerary for the Magic Kingdom with children ages 8-12: (Assuming you have made FastPass+ selections for Big Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Space Mountain.)  Enter when the park opens, Visit Princess Fairytale Hall, Ride Splash Mountain, Ride Big Thunder Mountain, Use your FastPass+ for Big Thunder Mountain to ride again, Ride the Haunted Mansion, Use your FastPass+ for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Experience The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Ride the Tomorrowland Speedway, & Use your FastPass+ for Space Mountain.

Tips to Save Time and Money in Walt Disney World

Tips to save Time and Money in Walt Disney World

Parents all over the world want to make their children’s dreams come true and take them to Walt Disney World.  Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is a herculean task and can be expensive and overwhelming at the same time.  With families struggling to save enough money to take that magical Walt Disney World vacation, they are constantly asking themselves some pertinent questions.  How can I save money in Walt Disney World?  How do I navigate Walt Disney World without becoming stressed out because of the throngs of people at every turn I make?  This list will help you save time and money in the happiest place on Earth!
1) Save money on food, theme park tickets, and water!
It can be very expensive to eat in Walt Disney World, so families have the option of investing in one of the Disney dining plans when they purchase a Walt Disney World package.  There are two dining plans that are the most cost effective for the family trying to deal with the high cost of food.  The quick service dining plan includes two counter service meals and two snack per person per night in a Walt Disney World resort.  Everyone will also receive a resort refillable mug!  The Disney Dining plan includes one table service, one counter service, and two snacks per person per night and a resort refillable mug.  These two dining plans can possibly save a family 15% on food costs.
If families plan their theme park visits correctly, then the park hopper option will not be necessary.  This will save a family about $65 per Magic Your Way ticket.  A family of four will save well over $200.
Instead of buying bottles of water in the theme parks everyone can get water for free!  Walk up to any counter service location and ask them for tap water with ice.  They will gladly give it to you.  This can be a savings of $168 for the week.  Since a bottle of water costs $3.00, and if everyone in a family of four requires two bottles of water per day, which works out to $24 per day.  After a seven day vacation that totals $168!
2) Make a dining reservation for the Fantasmic Dining Package!
The Fantasmic Dining package will guarantee everyone a seat in the Fantasmic show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Fantasmic is a breath taking night time experience in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Mickey takes on the evil villains that Disney has created over the years.  Instead of standing in line over an hour before the show and being herded like cattle, families have the opportunity to enjoy more of what Disney’s Hollywood Studios has to offer.  Approximately 30 minutes before Fantasmic begins, families will proceed to a special entrance and enjoy the show.
3) Take advantage of FastPass+ by staying in a Walt Disney World resort!
Fastpass+ is a time saving experience in Walt Disney World.  Families can visit mydisneyexperience.com and schedule Fastpasses well before they arrive to see the “Mouse” on their Walt Disney World trip.  Fastpass+ allows families to reserve a time at their favorite attractions instead of waiting in a long line, while they enjoy the rest of a theme park.  Currently you can schedule up to three Fastpass+ reservations per day 60 days in advance. Let Mouse Vacation Planning do the Walt Disney World vacation planning for your trip. Top 5 FastPass+ Tips in Walt Disney World

The new FastPass+ system in Walt Disney World is innovative and technologically advanced.  If you are staying in a Walt Disney World Resort you can sign up for FastPass+ 60 days before your vacation by selecting 3 FastPass+ attractions per day at the website mydisneyexperience.com.  These selections are magically saved to your MagicBand.  If you are staying outside of Walt Disney World you can make 3 FastPass+ selections per day 30 days before your vacation.

Tip #5 – FastPass+ is not needed for Fantasmic
Fantasmic is an astonishing night time show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  However, do not use a FastPass+ on the attraction.  Why you ask?  The simple reason is this.  You can get reserved seating instead by using the Fantasmic Dining Package!  To obtain this package you need to call (407) WDW-DINE.  The dining package works at the restaurants The Hollywood Brown Derby, Hollywood & Vine, or Mama Melrose.  Ask the Disney dining representative for availability at one of these restaurants for the Fantasmic Dining Package.  Make the reservation and you are set to go.  Please note that if you are on one of the Disney dining plans, the Brown Derby is 2 table service credits per person instead of one.

Tip #4 – Make FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance
Always make your 3 FastPass+ selections per day 60 days in advance at mydisneyexperience.com.  You can begin to do this as early as a few minutes after midnight.  All FastPass+ times could be gone for certain attractions 59 days before your vacation or 40 days before your trip.  For example, FastPass+ times for the meet and greet at Princess Fairytale Hall with Anna and Elsa will be gone about 60 days in advance.  There will be no more FastPass+ times for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train about 40 days in advance.  Another location where FastPass+ times will go quickly is for Toy Story Midway Mania.  They could be gone approximately 30 days in advance.  Make your family happy and mark the 60 day date on your calendar!

Tip #3 – See Illuminations or Wishes without a FastPass+
It would be a waste to use a FastPass+ for Illumination or Wishes.  I do not mean that these nighttime attractions are not worth seeing.  Quite the contrary.  I do mean that Illuminations can be seen without a FastPass+ in numerous locations throughout World Showcase in Epcot.

Wishes can be experienced in many areas throughout the Magic Kingdom without a FastPass+.  By not using a FastPass+ for these shows, it frees you up to make FastPass+ selections at other attractions.

Tip #2 – Make FastPass+ selections for attractions with traditionally long waits
You may already be asking, well what attractions have traditionally long wait times? In the Magic Kingdom these attractions will be: the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain.  These would all be considered thrill rides, however, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is much slower than the three “mountains.”  The wait times can become long during the day for Enchanted Tales with Belle, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, and the Haunted Mansion too.
Over in Walt Disney’s imagined community of tomorrow, namely Epcot, the attractions with long waits include: Soarin, Test Track, and Spaceship Earth.  The wait times at Mission: Space are typically about 25 minutes, so I would not include this attraction as horribly long.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios contains some breathe taking attractions that are extremely popular.  The two most popular thrill rides with long wait times are the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, a family favorite, and the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.  Toy Story Midway Mania will have a wait time that will get to well over an hour very early in the day and may even get as high as a two hour wait.  Star Tours and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing – along can have long wait times too!

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom there are three spectacular attractions that you need to choose as a FastPass+ selection.  They are: Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, and Kilimanjaro Safaris.  While riding Dinosaur you will travel back in time to see real dinosaurs.  You will come face to face with the Yeti when you experience Expedition Everest and you will visit the African savannah on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Tip #1 – Your 3rd FastPass+ should end by early in the afternoon
When you sign up for your initial 3 FastPass+ attractions per day you will be able to choose from four different sets of time.  Make sure you have the 3rd selection end by late morning or early afternoon at the latest.  Why you ask?  Let them know the answer Johnny! (4th grade humor) You will then be able to make a 4th FastPass+ selection at an in-park kiosk early in the day for an attraction that still has times remaining.  You could even get a 5th or a 6th.  A 7th? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves!  On the contrary, if your 3rd FastPass+ ended at about 6pm, then the FastPass+ selections for the day could be gone.

Make sure you are happy with the time windows you have selected for your 3 FastPass+ selection through the website mydisneyexperience.com.  If not, you can easily change them by clicking update FastPass+ and the times can be changed if time slots are available.
